The game may be retro, but there's no need to get THAT realistic. If I wanted quality that low, I could have ripped it straight from YouTube, instead of preordering. FLAC, please, or 320 at the very least. If that's fixed, I'm more than happy to give it a thumbs up.. Freakin' amazing soundtrack. Very fun and fitting to the game, can be listened outside of it too.The only downside for me is that it's in 128kbps. Whatever. Still awesome.. I can't recommend this because this review is why I usually don't bother buying separate soundtrack DLC. When I do it's usually a way of giving extra support to the devs. "I loved the game and its soundtrack, so here's a tip." The game and soundtrack were bundled together in a sale when I got this. I thought I might as well, but when I give this tip I expect just a little something in return: sound quality. Sometimes the devs provide this. Sometimes they're lazy...It's 128kbps. This was a common bitrate back in the old days of P2P file sharing in the early 2000s. Back then we used such a low-quality bitrate because connections were incredibly slower than what we have now, but compared to 320kbps or FLAC it sounds rubbish. Okay, I can sort of understand a game using 128kbps as you don't solely focus on the music and it helps reduce the game size, but in a soundtrack it's ridiculous. Literally, I could have got this by opening the Unity asset files and extracting the files. After all, I purchased the game so I had that right. But no, I decided to get this DLC because I was hoping to add a nice soundtrack to my VGM collection at a better quality.I just can't understand the reasoning behind it. Don't bother getting this. The only advantage is the ID3 MP3 tagging, but then again the music in the asset files might already be ID3 tagged and they may have just dragged the files across for the "DLC". Seriously, save your cash.. ♥♥♥♥ing awesome Soundtrack like the first one! Get it! :). This soundtrack is F*cking lit.
